Privacy

This website does not collect any personal information today. This page says what that means, and what will change before it does.

1. Where our privacy policy is

Our full privacy policy is being reviewed by our legal advisers before we publish it. When it is ready it will be published on this page.

We would rather say that plainly than publish something we cannot stand behind. What follows is not that policy. It is a description of what this website does today, so that you are not asked to take anything on trust in the meantime.

2. What this website collects today

Nothing. There is no form on this site that sends us anything, no account to create, and no payment to make.

The Customer Experience Benchmark works entirely inside your own browser. Your answers are held in the page while you are on it, the score is calculated on your own device, and nothing is transmitted to us or stored anywhere. Closing the tab discards it. The subscribe form on our Research and Insights page is switched off and cannot be submitted.

3. What we do not do

This site has no analytics package, no tag manager, no advertising or tracking pixel, no session recorder and no chat widget. It loads no third-party scripts of any kind, and it makes no network requests to anyone other than us.

It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. There is no cookie banner on this site because there is nothing for one to ask you about.

4. Server logs

Like any website, ours is delivered by servers that can keep short-lived operational records of the requests they serve, which can include the network address a request came from. Those records exist to keep the site working and to investigate abuse. They are not linked to anything you have told us, because you have not told us anything, and they are deleted on a short cycle.

5. What changes when the benchmark goes live

We intend to turn the Customer Experience Benchmark on, so that it sends us your details and we send you your result and a report. It stays off until three things are true.

  • Our privacy policy is published on this page, so you can read how we handle what you give us before you give it.
  • A short notice sits on the form itself, above the button, saying who is collecting your details, what for, who else sees them, how long we keep them, and how to get a copy, correct it or have it deleted.
  • The same notice sits on our subscribe form, which is the only other place on this site that will ever ask you for anything.

Two things we can tell you now, because they are already built. Anything you submit will be stored in Australia, and it will be deleted automatically after a fixed period rather than kept until somebody remembers to remove it.

6. Getting in touch

If you have a question about privacy, or you think we hold information about you and want a copy of it, corrected or deleted, please contact us using the details in the footer of this page and we will answer.

You can also raise a privacy concern with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, on 1300 363 992 or through oaic.gov.au.
